Print and web communications for fast-growing, rapidly-changing, highly interdisciplinary department in the College of Engineering. Accountable for high-level strategic communications planning and execution for the Department and Berkeley/UCSF joint graduate program. Major functions include writing, editing, graphics and layout for print; content, design, site construction, database management and php scripting for web.
Also collects and manages departmental data and statistics in a variety of forms: spreadsheet, survey, Filemaker and MySQL database. Creates and maintains databases, scripts and data entry for faculty CV information, graduate program alumni information, departmental teaching and course evaluations, extensive image archive. Further responsibilities include: project management for special events and projects, student groups liaison, industry relations, some fundraising, alumni relations, editing grants and submissions to external publications.

Responsible for all communications of a nonprofit software company providing cancer registry data applications. Wrote and designed company brochure, 24-page company report, 8-page newsletter, advertisements for industry newsletters, and direct mail postcards. Created standardized template and graphics for powerpoint presentations, designed five logos for new software products. Completely redesigned and rebuilt main website,managed printing contracts with local and remote printers.
Santa Cruz Public Library, Santa Cruz, CA

Occupied positions of increasing responsibility and complexity in a busy public library system. Duties included: circulation of materials at Central Library; filing, repair and digitization of materials for Central reference desk; Acting Branch Manager of a small library operating under a special young adult grant; children’s services and programs; and adult reference assistance.
